January 2016 Monthly Cover Squares - Free Planner Printable

Hello everyone! I am back with another Calendar Cover for the Erin Condren Life Planner and Happy Planners. This cover is for the month of January 2016.

If you want to know more about this printable and how it came about, click the original link HERE. I said that I would make these monthly, since a lot of you liked the first one I made for December.

I went ahead and made two choices of calendar covers for you this month. For the first choice, I went with a Happy New Years theme. The photo that I used can be found HERE. I wanted to go with something pretty generic that a lot of people could use. It seems like black and gold is very popular color combo for decorating planners recently, so that's why I went with this photo. You can see how I used this in my Happy Planner at the end of the post.

For the second choice, I went with the same color theme of the Pastel Winter Sampler I just posted on Friday. It is in dusty shades of purple, blue, and pink. You can also see how I used this in my new Erin Condren Life Planner at the end of this post as well.

Yep...I did it! I finally bit the bullet and bought an Erin Condren Vertical Life Planner to see what the hype was all about. I can see subtle differences in the Happy Planner and my new planner and I haven't made my mind up to which I like the best. I need to sit down and write a pro's and con's list. I am pretty sure you all have seen the comparisons all over Youtube and the internet, but I could do a blog post if you are interested. Let me know in the comments below if you are interested and I will do one for you.

Anyway...here is a preview of each of the pages. Link for each page is right below the photo:

Here is what the Snow and Trees printable looks like in my Erin Condren Life Planner:

Here is a picture guide for how I found the easiest way to place these stickers down on your calendar. I have shown the diagram on the Erin Condren Life Planner Calendar, but I would follow these instructions for the Happy Planner too. Written instructions are below the picture as well:

#1 - Start with the black arrows, sticking down each calendar square using the bottom right hand corner of the calendar square on your planner page as a guide. In this calendar, for example, start with Saturday the 2nd and continue to the left placing the 1 and then the 5 blank squares going right to left. I found on the Erin Condren Calendar, that the squares at the top of the calendar are a tiny bit smaller then the rest. So if you try and place the calendar square using the top right hand corner as the template, it will cause the rest of the squares you place below it to not be aligned properly. (That's what happened on mine with the 2, before I realized that the boxes along the top were not the same size as all the rest. Hence me making this diagram.)

#2 - Then when you are done placing all of the top calendar squares, go back to the far right pink arrows and place each square using the top right hand corner going down in the direction of the arrows. Continue on the rest of the rows going from right to left. Follow these same instructions for the Happy Planner Calendar Squares as well.

And as always, thanks for your support and for stopping by!

Also, when I post the studio3 files to my blog, they are ready to print and cut and you don’t have to do a thing. You don’t need to add cut line. As long as your printer settings are set to Print Actual Size and/or the Scale Setting is set at 100% or less, you should not have any problems with your Silhouette registering. If you do, click HERE for a post I did with tips on cutting, printing, downloading, and Silhouette files tips and tricks. 1. Oh thank you, thank you. Now I have to decide which I want to use. If I use the black and gold, (which I love) I will have to find a white gel pen to write my appointments in. But the other one is beautiful too! So pretty!! I would love to hear your comments on both planners. I have the Happy Planner for 2016!

    1. You are so kind to leave a comment. I didn't mean to torture you with choices. ;) I think I will have to use my Erin Condren for at least a month before I can give an accurate opinion. I have used the Happy Planner since August and I know that one pretty well. I will do a review or post something with my conclusions in February.

  2. Omg, omg!!! I can't believe I loved the last printable so much and you did a month spread with it, and did not even tell me!!! I don't like looking at your teasers on your page because then I want them early!! I was wanted both but knew my favorite, then realized I can decorate with both now!! I had to find out about this through an EC group! I love it so much especially the purples :) I just saved to computer and this will be my project tonight :) I'm gonna touch my EC with stickers, and I love the above comment.. I'm always wanting to use my white gel pens now I know how!! Great Job Jessica you have inspired me for today, yet again!!

    1. I saw your planners using both and they look really cute. I am glad this printable gave you the push to decorate your ECLP. :)

  3. Hiya I just tried to print the January 2016 cover and it doesn't fit the happy planner am I doing something wrong. I definitely clicked THP link ?

    1. What file type are you printing (pdf or studio3) and which design (Black and Gold or Snow)? I can check my google drive and make sure. You might have to check your printer settings and make sure it is printing Actual Size and not Fit to Page.

  4. Thank you I have sorted it now by just cutting leaving a border and sticking over the original squares so they are a little smaller but it doesn't matter :) love it thank u so much. I will deffo be looking out for more xx

    1. Okay good. I am glad you sorted it out. :)

  5. I keep trying to download and print the black and gold part 2 and I keep getting a message from Screen Safe that it isn't a safe download. Can you help?

    1. Are you downloading the pdf or the studio3? The Happy Planner or the Erin Condren version?

    2. I just downloaded both pdfs from my blog to my computer and did not get a warning. I am not sure why you are getting it. You can email me at myplannerenvy@gmail.com and I can send you the pdf that way if you feel that is safer. Just tell me which one you need. The Happy Planner version or the Erin Condren version.

    3. I sent you an email. Thank you. Happy Ne Year!

  6. I cannot believe I didn't download BOTH PDFs!! #smh These are gorgeous. Can't wait to use them!!

    1. I should just combine both into the same PDF. I am just afraid I would confuse everyone if I started doing that. I hope you love them when you use them. :)
